FLYLOG.io allows you to add digital signatures to selected flight records and include your own signature in exported PDF logbooks. This feature is primarily intended for training flights, proficiency checks, revalidations, type ratings, and other situations where a pilot, instructor, or examiner signature is required.
In addition to signing records directly on your device, FLYLOG.io also supports Remote Signatures, allowing instructors or examiners to securely sign your flight records from their own device without needing access to your account.

Signing a Flight Record
You can add signatures directly to individual flight records whenever documentation or endorsements are required.
Open the flight record.
Tap Edit.
Scroll to the Signature section.
Draw the signature on-screen or upload a signature image (PNG recommended).
Save the flight record.

Requesting a Remote Signature
If an instructor, examiner, or another authorized person needs to sign your flight record remotely, you can generate a secure signing link and share it with them. No FLYLOG.io account is required.
Open the flight record.
Select Request Remote Signature.
Copy the secure signing link and share it via email or your preferred messaging platform.
The recipient opens the link on any computer, tablet, or smartphone, reviews the flight details, adds their signature, and submits it.
The signed endorsement is automatically attached to your flight record.

Best Practices
Sign only the flights that actually require endorsements, such as training flights, proficiency checks, revalidations, or type ratings.
Avoid signing every flight record, as embedded signatures can significantly increase PDF export size and export time.
For uploaded signature images, use the PNG format for the best compatibility.
Keep uploaded signature files below 1 MB.
Ensure the signature has good contrast so it remains clearly visible in exported PDFs.
Troubleshooting
If your uploaded signature does not appear correctly:
Avoid using HEIC images (commonly created by Apple devices). Convert them to PNG before uploading (for example, in Preview on macOS: File → Export → PNG).
Verify that the image size is under 1 MB.
Clear your browser cache and try again.
If the problem persists, contact the FLYLOG.io Support Team and we'll be happy to help.
