An instructor in FLYLOG.io is a user to whom your organization's Admin has given the Instructor role. You cannot set this yourself; if you instruct but the options below are missing in your app, ask your Admin to change your role. With the Instructor role you use the same app as every member, with more rights: you see the full schedule, you can confirm reservations, you sign training records and you track your students' progress in the syllabus.

What You See

• Schedule: every reservation of the organization with names and details, not only aircraft availability.

• Personal: your own flights, totals, balance and contacts, like every user. Your planned duties, if your organization uses the Duty Calendar, are here too.

• Contacts: your students and the people your organization shares with you.

Reservations

• Confirming: reservations that include you as instructor arrive as requests. Open the reservation in the Schedule or Personal and tap Confirm or Cancel; the student is notified by email.

• Booking for yourself or a student: create a reservation in the Schedule and add the student and aircraft. Reservations you make are confirmed automatically.

• Availability: students can only book you when you are available. If your organization plans instructor days in the Duty Calendar, make sure your duties are up to date, or tell your Admin when you can fly.

After a Training Flight

1. The student, or you, enters the post-flight details and marks the flight Landed.

2. Open the flight and sign it. Your signature is stored with the record.

3. If the student has a syllabus, open it, mark the completed exercises and add remarks (see Training Syllabus).

Instructor Time

Your flight hours as instructor are counted in your Personal totals. Your organization can use this data, together with the crew rate set by the Admin, to calculate your instructor pay or to invoice the student for instructor time.
